Rustam Minnikhanov: Construction industry is the foundation of economic development of the republic

On August 17, at a solemn event dedicated to Builders’ Day at Piramida entertainment complex in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that construction industry is the foundation of economic development of the republic, and prospects of development of any territory is determined by its investment attractiveness.

Minnikhanov emphasized that Tatarstan is one of the most investment intensive regions in Russia, and the total amount of capital investments made 617 bln rubles last year.

The president reminded that about 35 different programmes have been implemented in the sphere of construction of schools and kindergartens, hospitals, and roads in the republic.   

Later on, Minnikhanov handed over state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan and commendation letters of Tatarstan President to heads of some construction companies.

State Counsellor of the republic Mintimer Shaimiev, who was present at the event, congratulated builders on their professional holiday and noted that Tatarstan is proud of its construction industry. “Very few regions demonstrate such results. Tatarstan has doubled the annual amount of constructed housing,” he added.

Shaimiev told that construction of Bolgar Islamic Academy and reconstruction of the Kazan icon of the Mother of God started this year. In his turn, he handed over commendation letters of the Regional Foundation of the revival of historical and cultural monuments to heads of some construction companies.
