Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has addressed himself to Tatarstan residents on the occasion of the Russian Knowledge Day.
“Dear Tatarstan residents! Dear teachers! From the bottom of my heart I congratulate schoolchildren and students, parents, teachers and day-care assistants, all the workers and old stagers of Tatarstan education system on the Knowledge Day and beginning of a new academic year!
There is no more exciting and memorable event in the life of each of us than the 1st of September that has long turned from a common calendar date into a truly national holiday. It is equally dear to people of all ages, social groups, nationalities and faiths, as knowledge is mankind’s common heritage that makes us united.
Since childhood we have kept in our grateful hearts good memories of the first school ring and our first teacher, the beloved school that helped us grow up.
Nowadays, the saying ‘knowledge is power’ gains a new meaning. The fast-changing life, contemporary economy’s fierce competition impose stricter requirements on education and upbringing. To be successful and self-sufficient, we need to focus joint efforts of government and society on training highly qualified specialists and creative individuals, at instilling high moral and patriotic qualities in the younger people.
It is gratifying that the Tatarstan education system holds leading positions in many important aspects, which is mainly the merit of our teachers, faculty members, caregivers at pre-school institutions and those whose passion is teaching.
We are sincerely grateful to all those who through their noble work and personal example instils in the younger hearts thirst for knowledge, respect for traditions of the ancestors and love for the motherland.
Let the new academic year be for all of us a year of new creative endeavours and victories, a year of scientific discoveries and achievements! Peace, happiness, goodness and wellbeing to you! Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
