21 accidents happened at construction sites in Tatarstan since the beginning of the year

On September 10, at a meeting at Tatarstan Government House, Minister of Construction, Architecture, Housing and Utilities Irek Faizullin reported that 21 accidents happened at construction sites in Tatarstan since the beginning of the year. Eight people died and 13 people had severe injuries.

The minister noted that there were fewer accidents in comparison with the previous year, however, it is still impossible to avoid accidents.

The investigation revealed that there were violations connected with fulfillment of safety regulations as well as preparation of documents. As for the last accident which happened in Naberezhnye Chelny, the customer did not conclude a contract with specialists for some reason. The president was not satisfied with such a fact and supported the initiative of the Russian Investigative Committee about bringing the employer to responsibility.

Head of the Tatarstan Ministry of Construction ordered municipal commissions to inspect observance of safety at all sites where excavation works are carried out.
