On September 12, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov addressed Tatarstan citizens on Eid al-Fitr holiday

“Dear Muslims of Tatarstan! Dear compatriots!

From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on Eid al-Fitr holiday!

These days millions of pilgrims from all over the world are gathering in the center of Muslim world – the blessed Mecca in order to praise Allah for showing Ibrahim and all believers the way to penance and salvation. Wherever believers are today, on Hajj pilgrimage or at home, together we strive for peace, creation and mercy.

By addressing Allah with sincere heart and offering a redemptive sacrifice everyone of us wants to become spiritually perfect, sensible and fair.  We believe that Allah will be merciful to us, giving wisdom to the strongest and hope to the weakest, that every family will live in peace, and animosity and hatred will disappear in the East brightened by the light of Islam.

Modern Tatarstan is an outstanding example of friendly co-existence and harmonious development of different nationalities and religions. The beginning of construction of Bolgar Islamic Academy and reconstruction of the Cathedral of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God were important events in the current year.

Sincere kindness, mutual understanding and support that Muslims, Orthodox and representatives of other religions give to each other instill confidence in the future anв prosperity of native republic.

Let the blessed Eid al-Fitr open new opportunities for spiritual improvement, inspire optimism and belief in imperishable spiritual values.

I wish you all help of the Most Merciful Allah in all your good deeds, happiness, health and wellbeing!

Tatarstan President, Rustam Minnikhanov.”
