President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov: we have to pay more attention to moral education of the youth

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov held a traditional Pre-New Year meeting with rectors of universities in House of RT Government.
By words of Rustam Minnikhanov, today higher school plays one of the leading roles in solving tasks set before our country due to processes of economic modernization. He also noted that both the process of instruction and moral education of the youth should be priority issues.
Rustam Minnikhanov shared impressions with rectors about his trip to Novosibirsk and visit to Siberian branch of Russian Academy of sciences. By his words, he was impressed by high level of scientific processes, development of high school and approaches to Siberian branch of Russian Academy of sciences.
Rustam Minnikhanov considers that republican universities also have high scientific potential that should be developed using global experience and standards.
RT President is sure that in order to prepare educated applicants, it is necessary to implement reformation of school education.
Rustam Minnikhanov and rectors of universities also discussed further development of the program for personnel training and retraining “Algarysh”, the priority program for training young scientists, postgraduates and university teachers.
RT Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov stressed that 2010 had become a historic one for higher school of republic: Kazan State University has obtained the status of federal university (Kazan (Volga) federal University), Kazan State Technological University and Kazan State Technical University – the status of national research institutes.
Rector of KFU Ilshat Gafurov made some proposals. In particular, he suggested to involve scientists and professors into working-out of plans and programs of economic development of Tatarstan. He also offered to create a business incubator for students and postgraduates under the guidance of RT Council of rectors.
Minister of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov informed that Agreement on cooperation with organization DAAD (German Academic Exchange service) by “Algarysh” program was signed. Yearly 30 students will have opportunity to study by MA program (2 years) at any German university under conditions of co-financing. Besides, professional training programs at German universities will be organized for postgraduate students (up to 3 months).
Albert Gilmutdinov also informed that the first regional scientific Festival will be held in Kazan in April.
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
