On October 21, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the 1st International Forum on Integrated Urban Environment Design in Innopolis.
Russian First Vice-premier Igor Shuvalov, Russian Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Mikhail Men, heads of ministries and departments of the republic, foreign and Russian experts in the sphere of urban planning, architecture, and developers took part in the event.
Welcoming participants and guests of the forum, Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan focuses on the quality of urban environment and development of public spaces. A number of state programmes are being implemented in the republic to deal with these issues, he said. For example, more than 180 parks, squares and embankments have been reconstructed in the republic for two years. According to Minnikhanov, these programmes will be continued in 2017.
Minnikhanov said that the forum brings together leading experts in the field of construction, design and urban planning. Moreover, participants will be able to address their suggestions and ideas directly to representatives of the country's top leadership.
Minnikhanov thanked Shuvalov for choosing Innopolis to hold the forum.
