RT Delegation will take part in solemn ceremony of opening winter Universiade 2011 in Turkey

RT Delegation will take part in solemn ceremony of opening XXV World winter sport student games (winter Universiade 2011).
We remind that winter Universiade 2011 is being held in Erzurum city (Turkey).
Sportsmen from more than 55 countries will take part in competitions by 11 kinds of sport: downhill skiing, biathlon, ski racing, jumping race, curling, hockey, speed skating, short track, ski jumping, snowboard and figure skating. By and large about 3 000 sportsmen will take part in competitions.
260 sportsmen will present Russia at XXV winter Universiade in Erzurum. By words of Head of Russian delegation, President of Russian student sport union, member of FISU executive committee Oleg Matytsin, winter Universiade 2011 is the first rehearsal of Olympic Games - 2014in Sochi.
According to Oleg Matytsin, Russian delegation in Turkey is the most numerous.
We remind that 24 sportsmen present Tatarstan Republic. It was earlier mentioned also that 30 volunteers from Tatarstan would go to Turkish Erzurum. It is meant that within the limits of winter Universiade-2011 they will work as attaches of Russian team.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
