Vladimir Putin verified preparation for Universiade in Kazan

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of sport, tourism and youth policy Vitali Mutko reported Prime Minister of Russia about course of preparation for World summer Universiade 2013. The meeting was held in Strelna town of Leningrad oblast. Head of RF Government contacted sport objects in Kazan.
Prime Minister reminded that Kazan won the right to host Universiade in 2008, and works on constructing objects and infrastructure for competitions started in 2009.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov reported that preparation for Universiade go at full drive. 25 objects out of 30 are finished and already functioning.
By words of head of republic, construction of football stadium will be finished next year and palace of water sports – this year. Rowing channel will host competitions in summer.
Rustam Minnikhanov stressed that 18 objects would belong to higher educational institutions so that students may use them.
Vladimir Putin was interested whether problems with rise in prices for objects construction were solved. Rustam Minnikhanov assured that currently there are no disputes between federal authorities regarding cost of construction.
In the course of meeting Vladimir Putin contacted with Kazan in mode of party-line communication and he was told in details about construction of sport objects for juvenile competitions.
Prime Minister of Russia spoke to participants of Universiade in Turkey. Putin thanked young sportsmen and expressed hope for their participation in winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
