Rustam Minnikhanov: Inter-ethnic and inter-confessional concord in the republic depends on timely and wise solution of problems in ethno-confessional sphere

On December 5, at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held a joint session of the Presidential Council for inter-ethnic and inter-confessional relations, Anti-terrorist commission and Council of municipalities.

The session was dedicated to implementation of the state national policy of the Republic of Tatarstan on municipal level.

Opening the event, Minnikhanov said: “Tatarstan has historically been a common home for many nations, and our multinational family has increased over the last decades.”

The president said that the situation in the republic is peaceful, that is achieved due to hard daily work.

There are three state programmes and six sub-programmes in the sphere of state national policy in the republic. Moreover, the monitoring system was created, and municipal anti-terrorist commissions play an important role.

Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister of the republic Ildar Khalikov, and other officials attended the session.
