Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovskiy and Chairman of Board of Directors of Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works Viktor Rashnikov arrive in Tatarstan

On December 12, Governor of Chelyabinsk Region Boris Dubrovskiy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works Viktor Rashnikov, who arrived on an official visit in Tatarstan, were met by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov at the Kazan International Airport.

The main purpose of their visit is participation in a solemn ceremony of laying the foundation stone of a new plant “SMС Alabuga”. This is a joint project between the Magnitogorsk Iron and Steel Works, the Russia's largest metallurgical plant, and the Turkish company "Dzhoshkunoz", a current resident of the Alabuga SEZ. The new plant will produce steel workpieces (blanks) for the needs of the automotive industry.

During their visit Boris Dubrovsky and Viktor Rashnikov will have talks with Director General of KAMAZ Automaker Sergey Kogogin.

Capital overhaul of 839 multi-apartment houses completed in Tatarstan with 40 houses still being under repairs

On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.

There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
