Rustam Minnikhanov launches construction of “Alabuga” service metallurgic center

On December 12, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov laid the foundation stone of “Alabuga” service metallurgic center, new resident of Alabuga Special Economic Zone.

The Governor of Chelyabinsk region Boris Dubrovsky and Chairman of OAO "Magnitogorsk metallurgical complex" Viktor Rashnikov, Director General of Alabuga SEZ Timur Shagivaleev and other distinguished guests attended the event.

The investors of “Alabuga” service metallurgic center are OAO Magnitogorsk metallurgical complex and acting resident of Coşkunöz-Alabuga. The total amount of investments in the project will make 350 mln roubles. The production facilities will be provided by Alabuga SEZ. The construction will cost 670 mln roubles.

The new plant will produce steel blanks for further production of body parts.

Coşkunöz, the supplier of moulded parts for Ford Sollers and Magnitogorsk metallurgical complex initiated the joint project in order to get synergistic effect and use logistics advantages.

Welcoming participants of the ceremony, Rustam Minnikhanov said that cooperation between Tatarstan and Chelyabinsk region develops from year to year. The trade turnover between the regions makes 35 bln roubles, and the new plant at Alabuga SEZ will help to enhance relations.
