Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov meets Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci and takes part in Turkey-Tatarstan business forum

On December 15, during his working trip to Turkey, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci and took part in Turkey-Tatarstan business forum.

Rustam Minnikhanov expressed condolences on the terrorist attack that happened in Istanbul on December 10 and criticized such inhumane actions.

Tatarstan President thanked Turkish Minister of Economy for organization of the visit of the Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım to Kazan a week before and for the current meeting in Ankara.

“The arrival of Binali Yıldırım opened a new page in the history of relations between our nations. We are glad that the situation in Russia-Turkey relations has calmed down and it is time to go forward,”   Minnikhanov said.

Rustam Minnikhanov invited Nihat Zeybekci to Tatarstan in May next year to take part in the International economic summit “Russia- Islamic world: KazanSummit 2017” as a distinguished guest.

After the meeting, Nihat Zeybekci and Rustam Minnikhanov opened Turkey-Tatarstan business forum at Marriott hotel.

Turkey is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan in the sphere of trade-economic and investment cooperation today. The fifth part of its investments to Russia accounts for Tatarstan. Ten Turkish plants are successfully working in the republic.

Tatarstan is interested in developing Turkish business in the republic and is willing to render overall support.

Tatarstan President said that Turkish investors might be interested in Alabuga and Innopolis Special Economic Zones, Priority Social and Economic Development Area “Naberezhnye Chelny”, Kama innovative industrial and production cluster InnoKam, Sviyazhsk multi-modal logistics center, and construction of high-speed railway “Moscow-Kazan”.

Rustam Minnikhanov invited Turkish businessmen to the Confederations Cup 2017, FIFA World Cup-2018, and WorldSkills-2019.

The Agreement on cooperation was signed between KBS Corporation (Turkey) and Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, the Memorandum of intentions was signed by Tatarstan Ministry of economy and Gebze organized industrial zone, and the Agreement on scientific cooperation was signed by the Academy of sciences and The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey.
