Rustam Minnikhanov: Results of studies in the field of medicine, that were given state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan in the sphere of science and technology in 2016, have been introduced in clinics already

On December 26, a traditional ceremony of handing in state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan in the sphere of science and technology was held at the Kazan Kremlin.

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of those killed in the Russian Defense Ministry's Tu-154 crash in the Black Sea on December 25.

"Summing up results the year, we are honoring winners of one of the most prestigious awards of the republic - the State Award of the Republic of Tatarstan State in the sphere of science and technology. Today, Tatarstan is a major scientific and educational centre, the site of remarkable scientific and educational schools, unique institutions and people, researchers and scientists, who glorify our republic with their daily efforts. Among works that were given the highest award in 2016 there are two studies in the field of medicine. These are works made by scientists from Kazan State Medical Academy and the Regional Clinical Hospital, as well as the Interregional Clinical and Diagnostic Centre. These studies confirm the high status of our medical workers and show the active development of fundamental and practical medicine," Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said speaking at the event.

Minnikhanov also noted that the results of these studies in the field of medicine have been introduced in Tatarstan and Russian clinics already.

Tatarstan President wished winners great achievements and new discoveries for the benefit of the republic.

In total, five scientific papers (32 people) have been given state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan in the sphere of science and technology this year.
