Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan has wide experience of cooperation with foreign companies in various economic sectors

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov met with members of American-Russian business council and President of ARBC Mr Edward Verona. The meeting was held in House of RT government. Tatarstan was presented by First deputy minister of industry Igor Nosov, Head of Department for external relations - Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov, Chairman of RT Committee for developing small and medium entrepreneurship Linar Yakupov and others.

Delegation which consisted of representatives of USA companies - members of American-Russian business council arrived in Kazan on April, 10 with three-day get-to-know visit (April, 10-12, 2010). On April,11 members of ARBC got acquainted with activity of tehnopark in the sphere of high technologies “IT-park”, technopark “Idea”, visited technopolis “Himgrad” and Kazan (Volga region) federal university.

On April,12 the delegation is going to visit Nab. Chelny to view production of JSC “Kamaz” (joint projects with “Kamminz”, CNH), Kama industrial park “Master”. Moreover, presentation of special economic zone “Alabuga” and review of production sites “Sollers” and “Preiss Daimler” are planned for this day.

Greeting guests, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that it is always pleasant for Tatarstan when foreign companies express interest towards the republic. He reminded that he met with Mr Edward Verona at International investment forum in Sochi and invited him to visit Tatarstan.
“Tatarstan has wide experience of cooperation with foreign companies in various economic sectors”, - R.Minnikhanov said. In particular, the following US companies are presented in republic - Ernst&Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Marriott (Marriott Courtyard Kazan). In the sphere of information technologies Tatarstan also cooperates with such international companies as Intel and IBM.

RT President reminded that in November 2010 Tatarstan delegation visited California and got acquainted with activity of US venture funds and “Silicon valley”.

By words of Rustam Minnikhanov, today Tatarstan is considering various forms of cooperation with foreign business. He informed a well that on the threshold of Universiade 2013 and World football championship 2018 some companies may be sponsors of these international events.

Edwad Verona briefly told about activity of American-Russian business Council. 350 companies working in various economic sectors are members of the Council. Some of these companies are already presented in Tatarstan as one of Russian regions and it is a good factor of investment potential of Tatarstan and its investment climate.

Edwad Verona invited Rustam Minnikhanov and Tatarstan businessmen to take part in annual session of American-Russian business Council (October, 3-4, Chicago). He believes it is a good opportunity to tell about Tatarstan and present its investment and industrial potential.

Within the limits of meeting with RT President representatives of companies - ARBC members (Cameron, Caterpillar, Case New Holland – CNH, KPMG, RusRating, Ernst&Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers).made brief presentations.
