Tatarstan President: We regard Bahrain as our strategic partner

On February 21, in an interview with the local media after his meeting with the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Bahrain Salman Al Khalifa Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the republic regards Bahrain as a strategic partner.

Minnikanov, who is in Manama with the official Russian delegation led by Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov, said that the leaders of Russia and Bahrain are in good relationship. "Establishing the Russian-Bahrain intergovernmental commission in trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation was an important step to strengthen our contacts. We have good prospects for the development of partnership relations,” he pointed out.

Rustam Minnikhanov appreciated the potential of cooperation in such areas as military and technical sphere, gas industry, automotive industry, Islamic banking, halal products manufacturing and many others.

"Tatarstan attaches great importance to cooperation with Bahrain within the framework of dynamically developing Russian-Bahraini relations. We have good friendly relations. But it is time to intensify our work and get down to specific forms of business cooperation, including developing of joint projects to increase the volume of mutual deliveries of products. In particular, our republic is interested in deliveries of KAMAZ vehicles and different types of oil and gas equipment produced in Tatarstan to Manama," Tatarstan President said.
