Tatarstan President takes part in meeting on interbudgetary policy between Dmitry Medvedev and regional heads in Sochi

On February 28, in Sochi, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a meeting on interbudgetary policy between Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev and regional heads.

In his opening speech, Medvedev said that the meeting is held with participation of regional leaders to discuss finance and improvement of interbudgetary relations, because this topic is of great concern to all heads of Russian regions. 

"We have different territories. However, the theme of finance and budget security is relevant to all regions - the richest ones and those, where financial problems are especially acute,'' Medvedev said. 

He continued that starting from next year, an increase of profit tax to the extent that is transferred to the federal budget, will be added to regional budgets. "I would like to ask heads of regions and, of course, the Minister of Finance to report on the mechanism that would be better to use in this regard," Chairman of the Russian Government said. 

"Of course, we will continue to reward regions which achieve the best results. Starting from last year we give grants to regions which reached the highest indicators on the dynamics of economic growth and attracting private investment. I would like to emphasize once again that the attraction of private investment remains a key indicator of your work. In general, we are planning to allocate 20 billion roubles for this purpose this year," Medvedev said.

Minister of Finance of Russia Anton Siluanov, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Kozak made reports at the meeting.
