President of Tatarstan granted a flat to European weight lifting champion from Kazan

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov granted certificate for a flat to European weight lifting champion Andrei Demanov. Head of republic met with leading Kazan weightlifter in RT Cabinet. Trainer of sportsman, - Olympic champion Nikolai Kolesnikov, RT Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov and Head of Zelenodolsk municipal region Sergei Batin also attended the meeting.

Student of Kazan weight lifting school, 25-year-old Andrei Demanov won “home” European championship that took place in Kazan on April 8-17. Andrei became the winner in weight category up to 94 kg.

The champion and his trainer Olympic champion Nikolai Kolesnikov told President of Tatarstan about their way to success, plans for future and development of weight lifting in RT. Demanov and Kolesnikov showed R.Minnikhanov awards and handed souvenir from Russian weight lifting team. Rustam Minnikhanov in his turn granted letter of gratitude of RT President and a souvenir to his mentor.

President of Tatarstan also satisfied the champion’s request who did not have his own accommodation. Rustam Minnikhanov granted Andrei Demanov certificate for a two-room flat in Zelenodolsk near the sports base “Mayak” where the strongest weightlifter of Tatarstan spends much time.
