On March 13, at the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov had a meeting with a group of activists of Tatfondbank's depositors.
Khalikov briefly informed participants of the meeting about the current situation. He said that the payment of insurance indemnities to the affected depositors is currently underway. More than 142,000 Tatfondbank's clients received 43 billion roubles, which makes 90 per cent of total deposits. Another 12.5 billion roubles were paid to 26,500 Intechbank's clients.
Khalikov also said that last week the work with the Federal Tax Service of the republic concerning “caught-up” taxes and fees at Tatfondbank and Intesbank was intensified. "We hope that the Tax Service will make a positive decision regarding all bona fide payments," Khalikov assured.
The Prime Minister added that together with that special programmes to support small and medium-sized businesses were launched.
During his talk with activists, Khalikov welcomed the idea of establishing a fund to support affected depositors of Tatfondbank and Intechbank. He gave an errand to Head of the Ministry of Justice of the republic Larisa Glukhova, who took part in the meeting, to provide overall assistance in organizing this work.
Summing up, Khalikov noted that the investigation into the collapse of Tatfondbank will be as transparent as possible.
