First RF Vice-premier thanked Tatarstan for preparation for fire-hazardous period

“The Republic of Tatarstan is among Russian regions which prepared for fire-hazardous period 2011 properly”, - First Deputy Chairman of RF government Viktor Zubkov said during teleconference on issue “Ensuring fire safety in forests on the territory of Russian Federation”. RT Premier Ildar Khalikov took part in the meeting.

Viktor Zubkov noted that from the moment of previous meeting of RF Government additional decisions were made on improving legislative base in terms of preventing and controlling natural fires.

By words of First Vice-premier regulations for granting and allocation of subsidies for regions for purchasing special fire-prevention machinery were approved.

V.Zubkov thanked leadership of some regions including Tatarstan for proper preparation for fire-hazardous period.

First Deputy Chairman of RF government informed about operational situation in Russia. By his words, 5083 forest fires were registered in Russia for May 10. Viktor Zubkov appreciated that there was no sharp rise of forest fires during May holidays.

According to V.Zubkov RF Ministry of emergency situations fulfilled enormous work on checking readiness of regions for fire-hazardous period.
