Rustam Minnikhanov: Nizhnekamskneftekhim is actively developing new products and new markets

On April 5, during a press-conference that took place after the annual meeting of shareholders of Nizhnekamskneftekhim Petrochemical Company, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov appreciated the company's performance in 2016.

"Nizhnekamskneftekhim is actively developing new products and new markets. Due to a large-scale programme for import substitution of linear polyethylene imports fell by 20 per cent. These volumes accounted for our products made in Tatarstan,” Minnikhanov emphasized.

Tatarstan President also noted the importance of the Ethylene 600 programme being implemented by the TAIF Group of Companies. He stressed that this is the first project of such a scale in Tatarstan. Minnikhanov noted that he is confident in people and in companies engaged in the project.

Minnikhanov also drew attention of senior managers of Nizhnekamskneftekhim to the need to expand the company's presence in the world rubber market. The company's goal is to bring the rubber production volumes to one million tonnes per year by 2020, he said.
