Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated Orthodox citizens on Easter.

“Dear Orthodox citizens! I congratulate you on the end of the Lent and Resurrection Sunday! The hearts of Orthodox Christians are filled with a bright Easter mood , and their houses – with the flavor of new-baked Easter cakes. Resurrection Sunday is a bright, life-affirming holiday that embodies spiritual awakening, the celebration of eternal values and gladness of good deeds.

This holidy teaches us to love our neighbors, live in peace with people around us, and care for our home.

In our multi-ethnic Tatarstan, where we pay special attention to support and development of traditional religions, strengthening of cooperation between different nations and religions, Easter celebrations are held in a climate of neighbourliness and kindness.

Orthodox life is rich in our republic. The reconstruction of the Cathedral of Kazan Icon of the Mother of God and symbols of spiritual revival of Old believers Cathedral has lately become the symbols of spiritual revival.

This Easter will breathe more spiritual power into Orthodox Christians and start new good deeds.

I wish all of you optimism, happiness, peace, health and wellbeing!

Tatarstan President, Rustam Minnikhanov.”
