Rustam Minnikhanov meets with representatives of Tatar St. Petersburg Diaspora

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov met with representatives of Tatar St. Petersburg Diaspora.
We remind that Head of Tatarstan is in Northern capital with a one-day working visit.
The meeting with representatives of Tatar Diaspora took place in a hotel “Ambassador” with participation of more than 150 people. Speaking to the activists of Tatar public organizations Rustam Minnikhanov noted that such meetings are important both for authorities of Tatarstan Republic and Diaspora. Tatar community carries out a serious work on expanding cooperation between Kazan and St. Petersburg, which allows uniting efforts for solving urgent problems and strengthen friendly intercourse
Rustam Minnikhanov told about results of the current visit to St. Petersburg. He reminded about opening of the monument to Tatar poet Musa Jalil in the morning on Gavanskaya street. Also he met with Governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko, The parties are sure that relations between Tatarstan and northern capital would be developing and consolidating due to new joint projects.
RT President also informed that he had visited St. Petersburg Cathedral mosque.
Rustam Minnikhanov reminded that permanent representation of Tatarstan Republic in St.Petersburg and his Head Shamil Akhmetshin play an important role in work of diaspora. His work was marked by Governor of St. Petersburg Valentina Matvienko (she awarded honorary certificate for consolidation of interethnic relations and in connection with 15 years of permanent representation of Tatarstan Republic in St. Petersburg).
On finishing the meeting awards of the Republic of Tatarstan were handed to the activists of Tatar public organizations for conservation and development of national culture, traditions, customs and language.

Currently, 44 000 Tatars live in St .Petersburg and Leningrad area. The Tatar national autonomy of St .Petersburg, Tatar community of St.Petersburg and Leningrad area and other Tatar public organizations are functioning in St .Petersburg and Leningrad region.
Tatar associations organize concerts, exhibitions and charitable activity. Sunday Tatar school has been functioned and cultural-educational paper “Nur” has been published since 1998.
St . Petersburg Cathedral mosque celebrated its 100-aniversary in March 2010. Currently the second Mosque for 500 members is being built in Primorsky district of St .Petersburg.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects.
