Rustam Minnikhanov: The volume of trade turnover between Tatarstan and Iran increased by half

On April 19, during his working visit to Iran, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in Tatarstan-Iran business forum (The Iran Chamber of Commerce and Industry).

Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan pays much attention to the development of Russia-Iran relations. “The governments and businessmen of our countries take many efforts to expand cooperation in different spheres. We are ready to take an active part in these processes on the regional level,” he said.  

Tatarstan President noted that the republic has got wide experience of cooperation with Iran. Different official and business delegations have visited Iran a few times, joint forums have been held, and outstanding Iranian politicians have visited Kazan. Tatarstan is interested in the supply of KAMAZ trucks, helicopters, oil products, mineral fertilizers, oil and gas producing equipment, refrigerators, food, and medical products to Iran.  

According to Minnikhanov, Tatarstan actively cooperates with the Islamic world and OIC countries. Also, the annual summit «KazanSummit» is held in Kazan every year. He invited Iranian partners to the event in May this year.

Tatarstan President believes that the spheres of culture, education, science and tourism have good potential for cooperation.
