Opening of Universiade in Kazan fixed for July, 6, 2013

World summer student games will be held in Kazan on July, 6-17 in 2013. Such decision was made at a session of organizing committee of Universiade 2013 held by First Vice-premier of Russian government Igor Shuvalov.
The session took place in IT-park with participation of RT President Rustam Minnikhanov.
Opening the event Igor Shuvalov appreciated intensive construction of new Universiade objects. By words of First Vice-premier republican authorities keep their promise and commission objects in time. Igor Shuvalov stressed that currently the most urgent issue is construction of transport infrastructure. “Russian budget is not unlimited but still if allocated funds are spent efficiently Chairman of RF Government constantly makes decision about possible favorable terms of loan for republic and granting finances”, - Igor Shuvalov said.
Time frames of World summer Universiade 2013 was discussed at the session of organizing committee. RF Minister of sport, tourism and youth policy Vitaly Mutko made report on this issue. He said that organizing committee has to inform executive committee of FISU about the terms of holding Universiade not later than two years before its beginning. While defining the date time frames of other major sport international events should be taken into consideration.
The duration of program of sport competitions makes 12 days. Members of organizing committee decided to fix the terms of Universiade 2013 - July, 6-17. Universiade village will open before arrival of sportsmen and official delegations, a week before – on June, 29 and close on July,20.
By words of Vitaly Mutko the first project of Universiade sport program by kinds of sport, days and number of medals, Final variant of the program should be approved by executive committee of FISU not later than 18 months before the beginning of Universiade.
According to sport program about 10 000 sportsmen and 300 representatives of national teams, judges and officials of participating countries will take part in the event.
The original variant of sport program implied holding of competitions by 26 kinds of sport. But by words of Igor Shuvalov it may be expanded to 28 kinds because of including Greco-Roman and free-style wrestling.
Also issues of training national teams for Universiade and interaction with higher educational institutions were discussed at the session.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov informed that the majority of sport objects are finished. Only football stadium and Palace of water sports are left to be constructed in 2012.
First Vice-premier of Russian government appreciated high level of Universiade objects he had seen.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
