Remondis AG shows interest in realization of the project on recycling household wastes in Kazan

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with leadership of Remondis AG in House of RT government. Parties discussed possible realization of joint project on recycling and utilization of household wastes in Kazan.

In the meeting took part Director-general of Remondis AG, member of the board Herbert Thule, Director of Remondis AG in Russia Mike Matthias, Head of Remondis AG projects in Russia Svetlana Bigesse and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin.

Mike Matthias told about activity of the company and its projects realized in various countries. Remondis AG was founded in 1934. Its main activities are water industry and handling of wastes (close cycle of production). Group of companies consists of Remondis AG, Rhenus Logistic, Saria.

Remondis AG is working in 28 countries around the world including Europe, Asia and Oceania. Among CIS countries it is represented in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. The company is successfully engaged in utilization and recycling of household wastes, builds new processing plants and sites for sorting and utilization (metal, construction wastes, paper, glass, package). In Germany Remondis AG is one of major producers of silver.

Head of Remondis AG projects in Russia Svetlana Bigesse told about potential investment projects in Kazan (“Adoption of modern system of waste disposal”). Thus, it implies changing container park for euro containers, garbage trucks, adoption of selective collection of household wastes and construction of waste recycling landfills.

By words of representatives of Remondis AG they are ready to invest 770 mln. roubles into the project. Besides, they are willing to participate in realization of such projects as water treatment, snow handling on city streets, etc.

President of Tatarstan appreciated professionalism of the company and its reputation in the world. He suggested that Kazan administration and specialists of Remondis AG would discuss the project, its economic constituent and consider all requirements of international legislation.
