Alexey Pesoshin: The Republic of Korea is a strategic partner for Tatarstan

On May 16, at his meeting with senior managers of KCC Corporation (Korea), Prime Minister of the republic Alexey Pesoshin said that Korea is a strategic partner both for Tatarstan and Russia as a whole.

In his welcoming speech, Pesoshin stressed that Tatarstan pays great attention to strengthening cooperation with Korea as part of Russia-Korea relations. According to the results of 2016, the foreign trade turnover between Tatarstan and Korea made 54.3 million US dollars.

Tatarstan has wide experience in the field of cultural cooperation with the Republic of Korea, the Prime Minister added. In particular, joint festivals of Tatar and Korean music are held.

Pesoshin noted that Tatarstan is one of the leading and industrially developed regions of Russia.

Then, the meeting discussed possible options for developing cooperation.

Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina, First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing and Utilities of the republic Alexey Frolov, Aide to Tatarstan Prime Minister Nazil Nasibullin, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Denis Valeyev, Director General of Tatneftekhiminvest Holding Rafinat Yarullin and other officials took part in the meeting.
