On June 1, during the 21st St Petersburg International Economic Forum, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met with President of the New Development Bank (NDB) Kundapur Kamath.
Tatarstan, as one of the leading and industrially developed regions of Russia, is interested in developing cooperation with the New Development Bank, Minnikhanov noted.
Today, the NBR finances infrastructure and sustainable development projects, including those related to transport infrastructure, energy efficiency, housing and utilities and urban development. Minnikhanov stressed that these are very important areas that are of great interest for the republic.
"The New Development Bank has already approved the first Russian project for the construction of two small hydroelectric power stations in Karelia. Tatarstan is also ready to submit its projects for consideration. We have gained a lot of experience in the field of petrochemistry, engineering, high technology and innovation. Particular attention is paid to the development of the IT sector," he said.
Minnikhanov invited Kundapur Kamath to visit Tatarstan during his next visit to Russia. He also offered to set up a working group between Tatarstan and the NBR to look into possible options for participation in joint projects.
