Tatarstan President congratulates on Ecologist Day of and World Environment Day

Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov congratulated citizens of the republic on Ecologist Day of and World Environment Day:

“Dear friends! I congratulate you on Ecologist Day of and World Environment Day! It is not only a professional holiday of specialists working in the sphere of environmental protection. I would like to congratulate representatives of scientific, public, volunteer organizations and all indifferent people, who by vocation, by civic duty and initiative help to protect natural wealth.   

Ecological problems are one of the most important today, and they define the level of wellbeing of the world civilization. Our common goal is to save our nature, pure air and mineral resources for future generations.

In general, Tatarstan is considered an ecologically safe region. A lot of pilot programmes and projects are implemented in the republic. Our credo is maintenance of the balance between environmental protection and economic development.

The key areas of ecological safety are defined by the Strategy of ecological safety and development of natural resources of the Republic of Tatarstan 2016-2021. It is aimed at increasing the level of ecological safety of citizens, preservation and rational use of natural resources of the Republic of Tatarstan.

It is not a coincidence that 2013 was the Year of ecological culture and environmental protection, 2015 – the Year of parks and squares, 2016 – the year of water protection areas in the republic. 2017 was announced the year of ecology by the Russian President Vladimir Putin. In Tatarstan, 2017 is the year of public spaces.

Due to well-coordinated work of specialists of environmental organizations and ecological services certain success in ecological sphere is achieved in the republic every year. I want to mention the work of our major enterprises , Tatneft PJSC and TAIF group that take great efforts on ensuring ecological safety at their industrial facilities.  

Tatarstan is implementing “green standards” in construction sphere that reduce the influence on the environment and human health due to rational use of resources.

 I am glad that every year more and more citizens want to protect the environment. Let me thank everyone who protects our nature, for your creative and professional work and dedication to your work. I wish you health, happiness, wellbeing, success, and optimism!
