Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Russia Jean Arthur Regibeau

On June 6, in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnkhanov had a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Belgium to Russia Jean Arthur Regibeau.

Minnikhanov thanked the guests for their interest shown in Tatarstan. He noted that Ambassador of Belgium arrived in Tatarstan with a delegation of business circles, including representatives of 12 Belgian companies.

"We are interested in developing relations with Belgium, as well as at the interregional level," Minnikhanov said.

He also reminded that today Kazan will host a business forum with participation of Belgian and Tatarstan companies. According to Tatarstan President, the forum is a great opportunity to strengthen relations and build up business contacts.

Minnikhanov briefly told the Ambassador about the socio-economic situation in Tatarstan, noting that the region is actively developing relations with foreign partners. Two special economic zones that are actively operating in the republic feature tax benefits for investors and an infrastructure for the creation of business and entrepreneurship, he said. 

Yesterday, on June 5, at their meeting at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the republic senior officials of the ministry and representatives of Belgium business circles discussed prospects for development of cooperation between Tatarstan and Belgium as part of Russia-Belgium relations, expansion of the range and volumes of mutual trade. Besides, the guests were presented modern Tatarstan and were told about special economic zones, industrial parks, territories of advanced development of the republic, and regional enterprises.
