Rustam Minnikhanov congratulates winners of the tenth Regional Contest "Doctor of the Year – Ak chechekler-2017"

On June 16, at the Tatar Musa Jalil State Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn ceremony of awarding winners of the tenth regional contest “Doctor of the Year – Ak chechekler-2017”.

Minnikhanov congratulated and sincerely thanked every medical worker.

"We have a good tradition to sum up the results of the Ak chechekler contest before the Day of Medical Worker. This year we are holding the contest for the tenth time. The title of Doctor of the Year is awarded to the best of the best. I want to thank you for your work, for the profession that you have chosen. The life of a person depends on you! Nobody but you can help people. A lot of programmes related to strengthening the medical industry are being implemented in the republic. We have launched a new programme this year. It was decided to put in order all the polyclinics, 197 facilities in total, in two years! We are building primary health-care facilities in cities and regions of the republic. Much is being done not only towards improving materials and equipment but towards enhancing professional skills. We can build everything and buy everything, but without trained personnel we will not be able to provide qualified, professional medical care. Once again, I sincerely congratulate you on your professional holiday, and winners on being awarded distinguished titles. I wish you success and further good work!" Minnikhanov said, addressing guests and participants of the contest.

Tatarstan President also presented state awards (medal "For Velorous Labor", "Honoured Doctor of the Republic of Tatarstan", Commendation of Tatarstan President) to representatives of the health sector.
