Tatarstan officials arrive in Shanghai with Russian delegation

Tatarstan officials on the delegation of Russian bidding committee for the right to host World championship in water sports in 2015/2017 arrived in Shanghai (China).
The visit is mainly aimed at participation in final presentation of candidate cities bids at a regular session of FINA bureau (International swimming federation) on July 15.
FINA session is held within the limits of 14th world championship in water sports in Shanghai (China).
In case Russia wins the right Kazan will host World championship in water sports in 2015/2017. Along with Kazan Guadalajara (Mexico) and Hong Kong (special administrative region in China) compete for the right to host world competitions.
Delegation representing Russian bid consist of RF Deputy minister of sport, tourism and youth policy Pavel Kolobkov, mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, CEO of bidding committee “Kazan 2015/2017”, Director general of ANO “Executive office “Kazan 2013” Vladimir Leonov, Director general of ANO “Sport broadcasting” Vasily Kiknadze, President of Russian swimming federation Vladimir Salnikov and four-time Olympic champion, member of International Olympic committee Aleksandr Popov. CEO of Russian Olympic committee Marat Bariev, Minister of youth affairs, sport and tourism Rafis Burganov also arrived in Shanghai.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov is expected to come on July 15 (meant to speak at the presentation).
The order of presentations of candidate cities for the right to host World championship in water sports in 2015/2017 will be defined on July 14 in the evening.
Presentations are to be held on July 15 starting from 9 o’clock a.m (5 o’clock p.m Moscow time)
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
