Rustam Minnikhanov meets Akim of Kostanay region Arkhimed Mukhambetov

On July 8, at the regional philharmonic society in the city of Kostanay (Republic of Kazakhstan), Tatarstan President, who arrived in Kostanay yesterday to take part in Tatar national holiday Sabantuy, had a meeting with Akim of Kostanay region Arkhimed Mukhambetov.

During their meeting, Mukhambetov and Minnikhanov discussed the development of economic, scientific and cultural cooperation between Kostanay region of Kazakhstan and Tatarstan.

Mukhambetov noted that more than 200,000 representatives of the Tatar Diaspora live in Kazakhstan, with over 16,000 of them residing in Kostanay region. Representatives of the Diaspora are actively involved in all spheres of economy, culture and science. National cultural centres are open, various events are held in the republic, he added.

Minnikhanov expressed his gratitude to the regional leadership for creating conditions to preserve the culture of the local Tatars and Bashkirs, as well as for holding Sabantuy holiday in Kostanay.

According to him, Tatarstan enterprises are interested in expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan, and work on increasing the volumes of mutual trade should be intensified.
