Results of Unified state exam - 2011 exceeded last year’s parameters

It turned out that results of Unified state exam showed by Tatarstan school leavers were better compared to last year and exceeded average Russian rates, RT Minister of education and science Albert Gilmutdinov said at a briefing in RT Cabinet. A. Gilmutdinov informed that 115 points were used for carrying out examinations. 233 authorized representatives of state examination commission and 981 public observers were attracted for fieldwork. 75 employees of regional centre for information processing and 6 subject commissions comprised of 803 experts were also involved in processing results of Unified state exam.
By words of RT Minister of education and science Unified state exam is the way to assess quality of school education thus much emphasis was put on objectivity of exam execution. According to the minister level of objectivity was the same as last year.
Results showed by Tatarstan school leavers in 2011 in 11 of 14 subjects were better than in 2010. Tatarstan is ahead in comparison with average Russian parameters. Results in 10 of 14 subjects exceeded average Russian parameters. Results in English and Spanish languages and social science were below average level.
Albert Gilmutdinov pointed out that results in Russian language were better than the average in Russia. Percentage of students who did not manage to gain maximum scores is less in Tatarstan than in Russia on average. 512 students did not receive certificates.
102 Tatarstan school leavers gained maximum 100 scores in 2011 (versus 74 in 2010).
Albert Gilmutdinov informed as well that 44 students were expelled from the exam for rough violations – use of notes, technical gadgets and references. 26 administrative cases were initiated including 13 against graduates.
On 9 May Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a ceremony of laying flowers to the monument “The victorious soldier” dedicated to the celebrations of the Day of Victory in the Great Patriotic War (WW II) 1941-1945 and held at Arsk cemetery in Kazan.
On 8 May, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the Acting Chairman of the State Council of the republic Marat Akhmetov and the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, the Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector of the republic Marat Ayzatullin reported that capital overhaul of social facilities is in full swing in the republic with 170 educational facilities having been included into regional and federal programmes.
On 4 May at a briefing held in the Tatarstan Government House it was told that currently there are 92 combat veterans, the last witnesses of the Great Patriotic War (WW II) of 1941-1945, living in the republic. The briefing also informed about veterans’ support measures and how the republic is planning to celebrate the Victory Day on 9 May.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva told that names of 353 Heroes of the Soviet Union from Tatarstan “ are immortalized in street names, on memorials, in monuments and squares and, of course, in our memory”. “The Victory Day is the day of memory, mourning and joy. It is the event which today should be clearly understandable to all young people and younger generation of Tatarstan,” she said.
