Rustam Minnikhanov: As president I will do my best for Tatarstan to be a competitive republic

Head of Tatarstan Republic Rustam Minnikhanov considers increase of competitiveness and recognition of Tatarstan internationally to be one of his main priorities during his presidency. He stated this during primaries of United Russia in Arsk town.
Rustam Minnikhanov visited 15-apartment house being under construction under the program of relocating citizens from emergency housing. A 3-storeyed building with total space of 764 m² is planned to be have commissioned by September, 1. President of Tatarstan also got acquainted with construction of kindergarten for 140 places. This preschool educational institution being constructed by “Belekech” program is also planned to be finished by September 1.
Speaking at primaries of “United Russia” and United People’s Fund informed about what is being done by Tatarstan authorities for development of republic and what are plans for the future.
Rustam Minnikhanov supported the opinion of RF Premier Vladimir Putin regarding consolidation of United Russia party and the People’s front. He noted that on the threshold of elections, the political parties discover their plans and prospects. “But we speak about what are we doing now and what we will do in future”, - Head of Tatarstan said.
R.Minnikhanov stressed that the main thing is maintenance of public-political stability, “We have to keep interethnic and interreligious accord”, - RT President said.
RT President believes that in order to improve living standards in republic it is important to develop its economy. Head of Tatarstan pointed out the main fields of development - stabilization of oil production at the level of no less than 30 mln. tons per year within the next 20 years, development of oil-processing and petrochemical and automobile sectors.
According to President of Tatarstan aircraft industry is a prospective area – Kazan helicopters plant is successfully developing, establishment of KAPO is among priorities as well.
By words of R.Minnikhanov efficient energy sector is needed for stable and efficient functioning of industry. In this term Tatarstan has developed a modernization program of generating capacities.
Rustam Minnikhanov also emphasized that Tatarstan is rather successful in agro-industrial complex. RT authorities are aimed at development of major complexes, private households and family farms.
Tatarstan yearly manufactures the output in amount of 1 trillion roubles, R.Minnikhanov informs. By 2016 republic plans to attain the sum up to 2 trillion roubles.
Speaking about educational sector RT President informed that a modernization program is being realized in republic. Within its limits teachers received 40 000 laptops, computer classes were equipped. “We are working thoroughly so that there will be no difference between rural and urban education, - any child should get high-quality education”, - R.Minnikhanov is sure.
President of Tatarstan noted that living standards depend on health care. He informed that within two years republic will receive 8 mln. roubles from federal budget for health care modernization. Major medical centres and regional hospitals will be modernized.
Head of republic also told about necessity of forming middle class of entrepreneurs. The infrastructure consisted of technoparks and business-incubators have been created in republic for developing small and medium business.
Tatarstan should be recognized in the world, R.Minnikhanov stressed. Forthcoming major events will help to realize this purpose – Universiade, World Championship in aquatics, World Football Championship. Head of Republic also believes that we should also remember our past. That is why the project on reconstructing Bolgar and Sviyazhsk that is being realized under leadership of First President Mintimer Shaimiev will be supported by the republican authorities in future.
“Together with Tatarstan Government and Chiefs of municipalities I will do my best for Tatarstan to be a competitive republic”, - Rustam Minnikhanov stated.
On 20 December, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the First Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and House Utilities Sector of the republic Damir Shaydullin informed that huge work in capital overhaul of 713 social and cultural facilities have been completed in the republic with the total cost of work of 15bn rubles.
On 20 December, in his address on the occasion of the Russian Security Bodies Officers Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated employees and old stagers of the service with their professional holiday and wrote: “
Throughout the history of our state, security agencies have stood guard over national interests of Russia and protected the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country. Your high professionalism, courage and dedication to duty are a reliable shield against external and internal threats.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
