Ildar Khalikov meets representatives of Majid Al Futtaim (UAE)

On May 12, at their meeting in Kazan, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and representatives of Majid Al Futtaim (UAE) Frank Witek and Pierre Cassimatis discussed prospects of joint projects in the sphere of trade. Khalikov noted that Tatarstan puts much emphasis on attraction of foreign investments and creation of technological and industrial parks.
Majid Al Futtaim CEO Frank Witek thanked Ildar Khalikov for reception and said that the main activity of the company is trade and property market.
“We have offices in 13 countries and are now willing to set up business in Russia. Tatarstan is located close to Central Asia. We also know that it is one of the most rapidly developing regions in Russia,” Frank Witek said. He added that there are several options of cooperation with the republic and the company is considering opening of its own network of hypermarkets in Kazan.
Minister of Industry and Trade of the republic Ravil Zaripov, Deputy Head of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Marat Bukharaev took part in the meeting.
On May 6, speaking at a briefing held in the Government House of Tatarstan and dedicated to the issues of holding the sowing campaign in the republic, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic-Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Marat Zyabbarov said that in the current year the sowing area will be 2.7 million hectares, which is at the level of last year, including 1.8 million hectares allocated for spring sowing.
On 2 May, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of Tatarstan Investments Development Agency Taliya Minullina said: “We already have nearly 11 thousand participants registered from 80 countries. We understand that this is not the limit. The registration ends on 6 May and we expect as usual that there will the increased number of participants.”
On 29 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin attended a rugby game between Strela Ak-Bars (Kazan) and Lokomotiv-Penza teams held at the Mordovia Arena stadium in Saransk with participation of 7 102 spectators.
On 24 April, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage sites and confined to the International Day of Historical Monuments and Sites held in the Government House of the republic, the Aid to the Rais of Tatarstan Olesya Baltusova informed that in 2024 the Rebus Forum will be held on 14-15 November. She reminded that in the current year the forum will be named “Aglomerations: Experience, Opportunities. Challenges” and will be held with participation of China “as it will take place during the ROSTCI Forum.”
