Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in the opening of an exhibition and visits a new building of Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan

On October 11, at the Chamber of Commerce and Trade in Ashgabat, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov attended the opening of an exhibition of economic achievements of Turkmenistan. The exhibition is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of independence of Turkmenistan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minnikhanov congratulated citizens of Turkmenistan on the upcoming holiday - the Independence Day and on behalf of all citizens of Tatarstan conveyed best wishes to them. 

"Over the past 25 years, your country has achieved good results. Oil and gas sector, industrial clusters, tourism potential open up new prospects for further development of Turkmenistan. The exhibition which is opened today is vivid confirmation of this. Tatarstan is actively developing multilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan,” he said.

Later the same day Tatarstan delegation led by Minnikhanov visited a new building of the Russian Embassy in Ashkhabad. Ambassador of Russia to Turkmenistan Aleksandr Blokhin showed around the building and briefly told the guests about the history of diplomatic relations between the states.

Minnikhanov introduced new Authorized Representative of the Republic of Tatarstan in Turkmenistan to Blokhin: "Since 2008, the representative office of our republic has been running in Ashkhabad. Today, our new Representative Ruslan Kabirov gets down to work," Tatarstan President said.
