On September 1, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov addressed Tatarstan residents on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.
"Dear Muslims of Tatarstan! Dear compatriots!
From the bottom of my heart, I congratulate you on the blessed sacrifice feast of Eid al-Adha!
Today, when millions of Muslims from all over the world thank Allah for His blessings, the aspiration of believers for peace and unity is felt as never before. All of us, those who are performing the hajj, and those who are celebrating Eid al-Adha at their homes, expect and hope that the Allah will hear our sincere prayers and will give us faith and strength to do good deeds, setting a pious example for our children and grandchildren.
Eternal values professed by Muslims, Christians and representatives of other traditional religions, constitute the basis of human existence, fostering a high sense of responsibility for our families, the future of the republic, the country and the entire world civilization. In Tatarstan, which has become a common home for people of different ethnicities and religions, Eid al-Adha is one of the holiest and widely celebrated holidays.
The Bolgar Islamic Academy, opened during these blessed days, is a vivid example of an effective, well-coordinated work of representatives of authorities of all levels and the public, patrons and philanthropists.
Let our souls open wide before Allah, and our good deeds make us spiritually richer and cleaner!
Dear Tatarstan residents, with all my heart I wish you the mercy of Allah, optimism, happiness, health and prosperity!
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov."
