Iskander Muflikhanov: today Tatarstan and Brazil are studying each other

Director of Department for external relations - Aide to RT President Iskander Muflikhanov told about results of working trip of Tatarstan delegation to Federal Republic Brazil on August 15-19 2011 at a briefing in House of RT Government. The briefing was held in format of video conference with participation of all municipal regions.

Iskander Muflikhanov reminded that it was the first visit of Tatarstan authorities to countries of Latin America. In the course of trip Rustam Minnikhanov and his party visited the largest cities of Brazil - Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and others.

Tatarstan delegation held business meetings and consultations with officials of companies JBS and BrasilInvest.

Iskander Muflikhanov informed that JBS is the largest holding in the country in meat production. Tatarstan is interested in JBS experience in agriculture and development of agro-industrial complex in particular development of livestock sector and meat production.

According to Iskander Muflikhanov Tatarstan delegation was impressed by visiting the largest infrastructure project in Brazil – port and industrial-logistics complex “Acu”. By his words, investments in this project will make more than 45 bln. US dollars.

Iskander Muflikhanov considers exchange of experience in the sphere of preparation and holding international competitions one of the areas for developing cooperation between Tatarstan as one of Russian regions and Republic of Brazil. He reminded that in 2014 Brazil will host World football championship (Kazan will host matches of World football championship in 2018). Besides 31 summer Olympic Games will be held in Brazil in 2016 (Russia will host Olympic Games in 2014 in Sochi).

Answering questions of journalists regarding certain results, signing and realization of agreements made during the trip Iskander Muflikhanov answered that “today Tatarstan and Brazil are investigating each other”.
