23 August 2011, Tuesday
Session of JSC “Tatneftehiminvest-holding” Directors board was held in RT Cabinet by RT President, Chairman of the board Rustam Minnikhanov on August,23. Professor of institute of catalysis Zinfer Ismagilov reported on experience in adopting new commercial installation “single-stage gas-core oxidation of hydrogen sulfide by atmospheric oxygen in aerated bed of granulated catalyst” developed by Institute of catalysis named after G.K. Boreskov SO RAN of Novosibirsk city and JSC “TatNIIneftemash”.
By his words, first works in this area started in 90s. Now it is able to reach the industrial level. The installation consists of two units: purification and oxidation of hydrogen sulfide. It produces associated gas. 16 mln. cubic meters of tank gas have been produced for 3 months. 80 tons of sulphur have been recovered. Thus, ecological damage in the sum of 3 mln. roubles was prevented. The process is completely computerized and automated. The basic technology may be scaled and sold. Requests for purchasing this technology are being received already from companies.
“The topic of recovery of associated gas is very important ad interesting for us”, - Rustam Minnikhanov noted and asked to specify what is so peculiar about this very technology in comparison with those existing at global market.
Zinfer Ismagilov answered that this installation has no prototypes by efficiency and used technologies.
Director-general of JSC “Tatneft” Shafagat Takhautdinov noted that currently the unit obtains small capacity - 80 cubic meters per hour, twice more efficient installation is needed.
RT President stressed that the technology should be worked out and the project should be brought to commercial stage.
