The flag of World student games was delivered to Kazan - the capital of summer Universiade – 2013. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met Tatarstan delegation which delivered the flag from Chinese Shenzhen.
Ceremony of transferring flag of World summer student games was held on August,23 during the ceremony of closing Universiade-2011 in Shenzhen.
On August,24 Tatarstan delegation led by Mayor а Kazan Ilsur Metshin delivered the flag to the capital of next student games.
Champion of the Games in Shenzhen, weightlifter, standard bearer of Russian student team Andrei Demanov carried the flag out of the cabin. Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed delegation at the boarding bridge. Later on president of Tatarstan, Mayor of Kazan and champions of Universiade-2011 Andrei Demanov, Arsen Tsynaridze, Aleksei Obmochaev and Kamilla Gafurzyanova came on to the stage surrounded by many volunteers.
Ilsur Metshin reported Rustam Minnikhanov that the flag of Universiade had been delivered to Kazan and passed it to RT President. Head of Republic welcomed numerous citizens of Kazan gathered in the airport in order to meet the symbol of Universiade.
“Our dream has come true, we received flag of Universiade. This means that Kazan is well-known in the world”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Twice Champion of Universiade-2011, fencer Kamilla Gafurzyanova thanked republican and city authorities on behalf of sportsmen.
On August 25 the flag will be placed in a transparent safe to demonstrate it for city dwellers. The relay of FISU flag throughout Russia will start on August, 30, City Day at Yarmarochnaya square in Kazan. From Tatarstan capital the column will head for Izhevsk on lorries “KAMAZ-Master” and in a special carriage of Russian railways.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
