On September 10, during his working visit to Barnaul, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov had a meeting with activists of the national-cultural autonomy of the Tatars living in the Altai Territory.
The activists told Minnikhanov about the life of local Tatars, events held as part of the celebration of national and Muslim holidays, their participation in various forums and conferences, and also about their relationship with senior officials of the Altai Territory.
In his turn Minnikhanov thanked the local activists for paying much attention to the preservation and development of the native language, culture and traditions.
"This is our common goal. But this work cannot be complete without your participation. Each of you has your own things to do, but despite this you find opportunities to gather together, implement projects. I value that," Minnikhanov stressed.
Tatarstan thanked the regional leadership for supporting local Tatars and creating comfortable conditions for their life.
Then, Minnikhanov handed in a number of state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan to some activists and also handed over keys to a new minibus to Head of the local Regional Tatar National-Cultural Autonomy.
