President of Tatarstan handed out state awards named after G.Tukai - 2011

A festive ceremony of handing state awards named after G.Tukai - 2011 has taken place in Kazan city. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov handed out the highest awards of Tatarstan Republic for achievements in the sphere of culture and art.
State counselor of RT Mintimer Shaimiev, RT Premier Ildar Khalikov, Chairman of RT State Council Farid Mukhametshin and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin took part in a ceremony. Four state awards named after G.Tukai were handed in of 125-anniversary year of the writer.
Singer Albina Shagimuratova, poetess Lena Shakirzyanova, group of artists Rustem and Maria Kildibekovy and poet – Chairman of RT Union of writers Ilfak Ibragimov became holders of awards in “anniversary” year. The Edict about granting awards was signed by RT President in April and on August, 30 Head of republic personally handed awards to laureates.
Speaking at the square in front of G.Kamal theatre President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov reminded about celebrating 125-anniversary of famous Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukai in 2011. He noted that celebrations are held all over the world, new monuments are being opened, and today’s handing of awards is one more festive event within the frameworks of anniversary.
“We are proud of our laureates, wish them creative success and hope that we will have tradition of yearly delivery of awards in future”, - R.Minnikhanov said.
Laureates thanked Tatarstan authorities for awards and congratulated citizens of republic on holiday.
After festive ceremony of granting awards distinguished guests took part in opening sculptural composition “Mystery of Shurale” at the square in front of G.Kamal theatre. The sculpture was mounted within the frameworks of 125-anniversary of Gabdulla Tukai. It was made by Honoured art worker of the Republic of Tatarstan Asiya Minnullina.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
