President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Archbishop of Kazan and Tatarstan Anastasy discuss reconstruction of former religious school

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with leader of Kazan eparchy of Russian Orthodox Church Archbishop of Kazan and Tatarstan Anastasy. Head of republic came to eparchial directorate (Kazan, crossing of K.Marx and Mislavsky streets, 9/15) and got acquainted with course of repair-restoration works of group of buildings of former religious school.
Anastasy informed that group of buildings of former religious school was built in 70s of XVIII century. Many famous religious figures studies there but in 1918 when the church was separated from state the school was closed. It is expected that eparchial directorate and women’s division of Kazan religious seminary will appear in the nearest time after finishing repair-restoration works.
Archbishop of Kazan and Tatarstan Anastasy, Rustam Minnikhanov and Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, Minister of construction, architecture and housing Irek Faizullin, Head of RT President Staff Yury Kamaltynov inspected group of buildings and evaluated volume of accomplished works. By words of Anastasy works have been implemented for a few years already. The customer of project is MU “Directorate of capital construction and reconstruction” of Kazan executive committee, general designer - JSC “Kazgrazhdanrpoekt”, general contractor – OOO “Astar”.

79 people are studying currently in the seminary full-time and 95 students part-time for the beginning of 2011-2012. They are representatives of Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Udmurtia, Chuvashia, Ulyanovsk, Samara, Tyumen, Saratov, Nizhny Novgorod and Chelyabinsk regions.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
