Rustam Minnikhanov holds a number of meetings during his working visit to Munich

On September 19, during his two-day working visit to Munich, the capital of Bavaria, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov held meetings with senior executives of a number of German companies.

During business breakfast with Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Knorr-Bremse Heinz Thiele, Minnikhanov thanked Thiele for organization of the visit and commended him for many years of work of the corporation in Tatarstan. Knorr-Bremse KAMA has been operating in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny since 2007 and manufactures drum brakes, torque vibration dampers, air driers and other products.

In his turn, Heinz Thiele welcomed the delegation of Tatarstan led by Minnikhanov and expressed his satisfaction that Knorr-Bremsr KAMA is developing and noted that Tatarstan is a perfect place for investments.

"The cooperation between our KAMAZ and Knorr-Bremse is a good example for German companies coming to the Tatarstan market," Minnikhanov said during the meeting. "We are satisfied with our interaction and look forward to its expansion."

Tatarstan President stressed that the republic is interested in further localization of Knorr-Bremse products in the republic, including Naberezhnye Chelny, where the Territory of Advanced Social and Economic Development was established.

Later on the same day, Minnikhanov and senior executives of such investment companies as KGAL and Thunderbolt Partners discussed possibilities of cooperation in Tatarstan in the field of renewable energy.

Minnikhanov also held a meeting with President and CEO of Linde AG Aldo Belloni. Linde AG has been successfully cooperating with petrochemical enterprises of the republic, such as Kazanorgsintez, Nizhnekamskneftekhim, TAIF-NK for the second decade and signed an agreement to design and supply equipment for the construction of a new ethylene complex in Nizhnekamskneftekhim in June.

Tatarstan President stressed that the republic is interested in expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with Linde AG, the world’s leading manufacturer of industrial gases and engineering. The meeting discussed current projects and options for further cooperation. "We will support business that come to the republic with its technologies, capital and innovative projects," Tatarstan President said. "I am convinced that cooperation between Linde and Tatarstan will give our companies a new impetus for development, and will also contribute to strengthening Russian-German relations," he added.
