Tatarstan will have enough potatoes this year

“This year Tatarstan Republic will have enough potatoes”, - Deputy Premier – Minister of agriculture and foodstuff Marat Akhmetov informed at a republican meeting. The meeting was held in House of RT Government in format of video conference by RT President Rustam Minnikhanov.

Marat Akhmetov said that all three factories are ready for processing sugar beet. Drozhzhanovsky, Kaibitsky, Buinsky, Cheremshansky, Zainsky regions of republic have already started harvesting sugar beet. By and large, it is planned to harvest 1,8 mln. tons of sugar beet.

Head of Ministry of agriculture reminded that 5 mln. tons of grain have been harvested in Tatarstan. Average crop capacity makes 32,4 centners of grain per hectare.

Later on he focused on issue of farming standards in republic.

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov noted in the course of meeting that it is necessary to treat forage and grain reserve carefully. “Last year summer showed us that in order to have forage the whole forage resources should be used”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said. He stressed as well that activities connected with support of private households and their development should be continued in republic.
