President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov visits “Ford Otosan” plant in Turkish Republic

On September, 6 President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has visited plant “Ford Otosan” in Kocaeli (Turkey).
Rustam Minnikhanov was accompanied by RT Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov, Director of Department for external relations - Aide to RT President on international issues Iskander Muflikhanov, Plenipotentiary of Tatarstan in Turkish Republic Radik Gimatdinov, Chairman of Directors board of JSC “SEZ “Alabuga” Timur Shagivaleev.
Greeting guests from Tatarstan member of Directors board of «Ford Motor Company» - Director general of «Ford Otosan» Nuri Otay thanked President of Tatarstan for the visit and briefly presented the plant.
“Ford Otosan” produces commercial minibuses and “Ford” lorries, engines and transmissions on the territory of Turkey. Currently 7860 people work on the plant, 2040 of them are highly skilled specialists. According to Nuri Otay the staff of plant is especially proud of minibuses Ford - Ford Transıt and Ford Transıt Connect. Volume of output makes 320 000 minibuses per year. The company plans to reach the number of 400 000 units per year.
Rustam Minnikhanov was interested in output of engines for lorries at “Ford Otosan”. Nuri Otay informed that output of engines in Turkey make 66 000 units. The company also receives a part of engines from England.
Except for producing minibuses and lorries “Ford Otosan” sells “Ford” cars produced in Europe. In Turkey “Ford” cars take 10 % of the automobile market.
Rustam Minnikhanov inspected welding and foundry workshops of the plant where main production work is accomplished by robots. RT President also saw assembling and painting workshops.

On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
