28 September 2017, Thursday

On September 28, at his meeting with representatives of the Union of Composers of Tatarstan and the N.G. Zhiganov Kazan State Conservatory, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the preservation of the national musical culture is very important to the republic.

The meeting was held in a new educational building of the Kazan State Conservatory. The facility was renovated and the faculties of folk instruments and Tatar musical art were opened.

Minnikhanov got acquainted with the results of restoration works. He looked around classrooms, rehearsal rooms, and also talked to students of the conservatory.

During his conversation with the regional music community, Minnikhanov noted the significance of the work to preserve the national culture and traditions.

“This is a very important mission. It is necessary to support the Tatar musical culture, to revive the lost traditions of playing our folk musical instruments. If we lose this now, we will have to spend much more money to restore this heritage”, he said.
