Vnesheconombank to finance project on creating Ford –Sollers automotive production

State Corporation “Bank of development and external economic activity (Vnesheconombank)” has concluded loan agreements with OOO “Ford Sollers Holding”, OOO “Ford Sollers Elabuga” and ZAO “Ford Motor Company” for the total sum of 36 bln. roubles. President of Tatarstan Rustam minnikhanov attended the event.
On the part of Vnesheconombank documents were signed by Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev, on the part of OOO “Ford Sollers Holding” and OOO “Ford Sollers Elabuga” - Director general of JSC “Sollers” Vadim Shvetsov, on behalf of “Ford Motor Company” – Vice-president of Ford Motor Company (USA) - Vice-president on production issues Ford Europe Ken Macfarlane.
In accordance with agreements funds of Vnesheconombank will be allocated to finance investment project on creating joint enterprise “Ford Sollers” for producing auto and commercial cars.
The joint enterprise is being founded on a parity basis - partners will have 50 % authorized capital of the joint enterprise. Ford will contribute existing plant in Vsevolozhsk and distribution network in Russia. Sollers in its turn contributes plants in Nab.Chelny and SEZ “Alabuga”. All main automobile competences will be created within the frameworks of joint enterprise, - development center, engine production, auto production, including stamping of sheet metal.
Production of commercial cars Ford Transit and engines will be deployed in SEZ “Alabuga” using existing facilities where vans Fiat Ducato are currently produced. The engine-production plant with output 180 thousand motors per year will be constructed from scratch.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. On 12 April in his address to residents of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated them with the Space Exploration Day and said: “April 12, 1961 has forever been inscribed into the world history as the day of triumph of the Soviet science and engineering thought. The flight of Yuriy Gagarin opened the way to the stars for the humankind and demonstrated to the whole world the might of our country.
On 4 April , speaking at a closing ceremony of the XX Russian Venture Forum held at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the Russian Venture Forum has confirmed its status of the point of attraction of technological development leaders.
The Forum created a unified scientific, technological and investment space where scientific ideas are transformed into competitive products, and startups gain access to capital and markets. Its business programme is organically integrated into the regional and federal agenda for achieving technological sovereignty and leadership of Russia, he said.
On 1 April Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Russian Minister of Healthcare Mikhail Murashko introduced Ayrat Farrakhov, who was appointed the Acting Rector of Kazan State Medical University (KSMU) to its staff.
In his speech Mikhail Murashko emphasized that today KSMU is rightfully considered one of the most respected in the country and said:”Ayrat (Zakievich) has been officially appointed the Acting Rector and I am sure that under his leadership the University will maintain the positions it has achieved and, of course, will continue its development.”
