Alexey Pesoshin: Tatarstan Government pays much attention to issues of environmental protection and ecological safety

On October 12, at a session of the organizing committee on the preparation and holding of events in the Year of ecology and public spaces at the administration of TANECO oil refining complex in Nizhnekamsk, Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin said that Tatarstan Government pays much attention to issues of environmental protection and ecological safety.

Before the session Pesoshin accompanied by Minister of ecology and natural resources of the republic Farid Abdulganiev and Head of Nizhnekamsk region Aidar Metshin looked around the exhibition of environmental protection technologies. Automated pollution monitoring systems, air cleaning technologies, and modern mobile laboratories of ecological monitoring were presented to the guests.

Making a keynote report, Farid Abdulganiev said that Tatarstan has got a wide experience in solving priority tasks of environmental protection and ecological safety. Among the main tasks for 2017 the minister pointed out creation of environmental quality management systems, decrease of man-induced impact, organization of continuous control of pollution emissions and discharges at the biggest industrial enterprises.

According to Abdulganiev , special attention is paid to discharge of untreated sewage waters. Also, in order to reduce man-induced impact on the Volga River and liquidation of “hot spots” in the Volga basin, Abdulganiev suggested building sewage disposal facilities of the housing and utility sector, industrial enterprises and urban drainages.

Farid Abdulganiev informed that the main sources of emissions and discharges of the first category facilities should be equipped with automate control systems from January 1.  There are 216 such facilities in the republic.

Pesoshin required signing agreements between the Cabinet of Ministers and major regional enterprises on holding unscheduled inspections in the periods of unfavorable meteorological conditions in the nearest time.

Five big enterprises, Tatneft, Nizhnekamskneftekhim pharmaceutical company, Kamaz, Kazanorgsintez, and TAIF-NK have signed agreements on cooperation with the Russian Ministry of Natural resources, Federal Service for Supervision of Natural Resource Usage, and Tatarstan Government.
