Rustam Minnikhanov meets with Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Mexican United States in Russian Federation Alfredo Peres Bravo

President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov has met with Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Mexican United States in Russian Federation Alfredo Peres Bravo. The meeting was held in House of RT Government with participation of RT Deputy Premier – Minister of agriculture and foodstuff Marat Akhmetov, RT Minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov, Chief of RT Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Linar Yakupov, Deputy Director-general of JSC “Holding company Ak Bars” Sergei Mukhin and others.
Welcoming guests Rustam Minnikhanov expressed hope for new level of cooperation between Mexico and Tatarstan. By his words, relations between Mexico and Russia are stable and friendly today. It enables implementing integration and establishing contacts between regions.
The number of joint projects and level of business contacts between Tatarstan and Mexico is not so high as it could be. He stressed that Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Mexican United States in Russian Federation Alfredo Peres Bravo does a lot for consolidation and development of mutually beneficial relationships.
Rustam Minnikhanov believes that agro-industrial complex, in particular livestock sector is a priority area for cooperation. In this matter Tatarstan Republic is seriously introduced in Russia. Attraction of reliable and experienced partners will let expanding its presence at the market.
Moreover, cooperation should be established in sport sector and organization of international competitions. He reminded as well that in 2013 Kazan will host World student sport summer games (Universiade 2013), and World Championship in water sports (2015). In 2017 Mexico will host World Championship in water sports.
Rustam Minnikhanov offered guests to learn more about republic and its economic opportunities during the visit. He gave assignment to make presentation of SEZ “Alabuga” and other projects being realized in republic to members of delegation headed by Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Mexican United States in Russian Federation Alfredo Peres Bravo.
Alfredo Peres Bravo informed that he had arrived in Tatarstan with representatives of business structures and several ministries of Mexico. He reminded that during previous visit to Kazan he had promised Rustam Minnikhanov to arrive next time with representatives of companies interested in cooperation with Tatarstan enterprises. “Now I am here with businessmen engaged in livestock sector, meat production, production and sale of coffee and other spheres”, - Mr Ambassador said. He pointed out that Mexican businessmen are interested in establishing contacts with Tatarstan entrepreneurs.
Alfredo Peres Bravo also considers that possibility to increase the number of students studying at Tatarstan universities is to be discussed. “Tatarstan experience in the sphere of sport achievements is necessary for us”, - Mr Ambassador said. Moreover, he believes that foundation of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency in republic was a timely measure.
Mexican businessmen told about their main spheres and prospects, and shared impressions about Kazan. Thgey think the main purpose of business mission is analysis of existing opportunities and establishment of bilateral mutually beneficial contacts.

On 26 March Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in a meeting of the Council by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the Volga Federal District dedicated to rural demographic policy held by the Russian Presidential Envoy in the District Igor Komarov in Nizhniy Novgorod with participation of heads of federal ministries concerned, representatives of the Federal Assembly and heads of federal entities of the Volga Federal District. The participants of the meeting discussed such topics as the demographic situation, implementation of federal programmes and the best regional practices, and the results of the meeting will be used for preparing comprehensive solutions of such tasks set by Russian President Vladimir Putin as preservation of the population, strengthening health, raising prosperity of people and supporting families.
On 24 March, speaking at a briefing on achievements of preventive medicine last year and plans for 2026 held in the Government House of the republic, representatives of Tatarstan Healthcare Ministry said that medical check-ups are proving their effectiveness in preserving the health and lives of residents of the republic.
Thus the regional Healthcare Minister Almir Abashev informed: “Over the past five years, a clear course has been set to ensure that preventative medicine in the country gains momentum. Starting from 2022 the number of people who should have their medical check-ups in this or that year is growing. We are facing a task of covering more than 70 per cent of elderly people with check-ups by 2030.”
On March 10, the third meeting of the organizing committee on preparation and holding of the 20th anniversary Russian Venture Forum 2026 to be held in Kazan from April 8 to 10, chaired by Russian Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov and with participation of Tatarstan Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and co-chair of the forum’s organizing committee Aleksey Pesoshin, President of the Academy of Sciences of Tatarstan Rifkat Minnikhanov, Director of the Investment and Venture Fund of Tatarstan Damir Galiev as well as representatives of federal and regional authorities, development institutions and partner organizations via videoconference, took place.
On 10 March, speaking at a briefing dedicated to the development of the national Max messenger in Tatarstan and held in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Digitalization of Public Administration, Information Technologies and Communication of the republic Ilya Nachvin informed that according to the data of March 2026 about 1.5m residents of Tatarstan use domestic Max messenger.
